A comprehensive reference library plays a vital role in a monastic tradition and Buddhist community.
Dhammatiriya’s primary aim is to collect, preserve and make available resources for understanding and applying the Buddha’s teachings, both for the resident bhikkhunis, and for the wider community.
Another important aim is to nourish and empower the monastics with the necessary resources for their offerings of teaching, understanding of the larger traditions and contexts they interact with, and to provide a place for practice, refuge and healing for the wider community.
To support this aim, our library will also include books from contemporary disciplines (for example) psychology, ecology, philosophy, neuroscience) and other religions
The Pali Tipitaka forms the basis for Dhammatiriya’s offerings, with other resources to supplement this.
