The meaning of Dhammatiriya:
Tiriya – means the river bank – but in poetic use in Pali, it can be used both for the near shore and the far shore, as well as the place of crossing.
Kirikiriroa (Māori word for Hamilton) refers to the river bank which Hamilton New Zealand grew up around.
So Dhammatiriya refers to the location where the project was founded, on the banks of a river and our deepest inspiration, the far shore/ Nibbana.
Ayya Adhimutti is the founding bhikkhuni of Dhammatiriya.
